Example of Loista feedback on a second attempt at a practice prompt.

Practice prompt

Attempt 2

Your manager asks why the launch slipped. Give them the short version.

Your focus

State the answer first

Target met

You gave the reason in your first sentence, before any background.

From your latest attempt

“The launch moved two weeks because the payment review isn’t finished.”

Clarity score

6.1 → 6.8

  • It listens to you speak

Record an answer out loud. Loista transcribes it, measures pace, fillers and pauses, and scores it against a calibrated rubric.

  • Private by default

No audience, no feed, no leaderboard. Rehearse on your own before you have to say it for real.

  • Feedback you can act on

Each result names one thing to change, shows where it happened, and checks your retry against it.

Sample run

See it on a sample CV

A fictional CV, the interview questions the app wrote from it, and one answer taken from Almost there to Good with a single fix.

  1. From the CV

Mentored two junior engineers; introduced a design-review template the team now uses for every new service.

  2. The question

You introduced a design-review template that the team now uses for every new service. What problem prompted it, and how did you get a 40-person engineering team to adopt it?

  3. 6.5 to 7.9

Target met: one clear main point, stated first

How it works

One prompt, one focus, one more try

You don't need another lecture on public speaking. You need to know what to change, and whether the change worked.

  1. Answer out loud. No script.

Today's question, picked for you. A topic you search for, or one you write yourself. Answer the way you would in the room; short questions take short answers.

Recording screen for the prompt "Why the launch slipped", with three hints and a 90-second timer.
  2. One change to make. Not twenty.

Loista transcribes what you said, scores clarity, structure and delivery (pace, filler words, pauses), and names the one change most likely to help.

Results screen: overall score 5.9, "Almost there", with clarity, structure and delivery scores, pace and filler count.
  3. Retry, and hear what improved.

Try again with that single focus. Loista tells you whether the new attempt met it, and reports the score on its own line.

    • Each focus is one specific, checkable change, like stating your answer before the background.
    • A change that landed still counts when the overall number holds steady, and the score only says it rose when it did.
    • Every attempt is kept with its score and feedback, so you can see your trend over time.
A second attempt marked "Target met" for structure, with evidence from the answer and the structure score up from 5.0 to 8.0.

Interviews and exams

Rehearse what's actually coming

The same honest feedback, on your CV, your notes, and the date in your calendar.

Questions from your own CV

Upload your CV and practise the questions it is likely to get you asked: your projects, your choices, the gaps. Each round opens with a warm-up and builds from there.

Interview screen titled "Questions from your CV", offering questions about a RAG chatbot and a data ingestion project.

Three questions, then a debrief

A round is one mock interview: three questions back to back, then a debrief across all three answers, including any habit that showed up in more than one. Each question can be tried up to five times.

Interview debrief noting that "uh" came up in every answer, above the first answer's scores and feedback.

Your notes, as questions

Paste your notes or add a PDF chapter. Loista writes questions from it, checks each one against the text, and you explain the answers out loud. For a viva, an exam, or the product you have to present.

A study set titled "Database normalization", made from pasted notes, with three questions: the purpose of normalization and its anomalies, second normal form, and third normal form.

A plan for what's coming up

Add an interview, viva, presentation or meeting, with its date. Loista plans a few short practices for the days before it, from your CV, your notes or your topics.

A plan for a DBMS lab viva on Tue 3 Nov, with questions from the "Database normalization" notes split into two preps: three questions on Thu 29 Oct and a last run on Mon 2 Nov.

About

Shine when you speak

Loista (LOY-sta) comes from the Finnish verb loistaa, "to shine". We chose it for the moments the app is built for: an interview, a viva, a presentation, a meeting where you want to say what you mean clearly, the first time.

Today that means short practice out loud. You answer a prompt, Loista scores clarity, structure and delivery, and suggests one thing to change before you try again. Shining, for us, is less about sounding polished and more about being easy to follow.

Loista is made in India by Fampulse Technologies Private Limited. Until November 2026 the app was called Brinlet. If you used it then, it's the same app, with the same account and the same history.

FAQ

What Loista is, and what it isn't

Short answers to the questions people ask first.

Is Loista a course?

No. Loista is for practice. You start by speaking, then use the feedback to improve the next attempt.

Is it for presentations?

It is built for the answer you give on the spot: in an interview, a meeting or the questions after a pitch. It does not rehearse a scripted talk. Add the presentation under what's coming up, and it plans practice for the days before.

Can I practise from my own notes?

Yes. Paste notes or add a PDF with selectable text, and Loista writes questions from it. Photos of handwritten notes and scanned pages aren't supported yet.

I have a code from a friend.

Codes work in the Android app. Install from their link and the code is added for you, or tap "Have a code?" on the first screen or in Settings. You both get 3 more practices when you finish your first one. The iPhone app doesn't take codes.

Do I just get a score?

You get a score, but it is not the headline. Each result leads with a focus, evidence from what you said, and whether your retry met it.

Why are the scores so honest?

Scores are set against a capable everyday speaker, not an orator. A 7 is a clear, well-built answer, and rambling does not score well however confident it sounds.

What happens to my recordings?

Recordings are processed to create your transcript and feedback. The privacy policy explains what we collect and who helps us process it, and you can request deletion at any time.
